Constant Leadership is Being Self-…

October 5, 2010 § Leave a comment

It isn’t anyone’s responsibility to inspire me. It’s my responsibility.

Oh, by the way, it also isn’t anyone’s responsibility to motivate me or hold me accountable.

Those are my responsibilities also.

The moment I give someone else that repsonsibility, then I have abdicated what is mine, transferred it to someone else and therefore if “it” doesn’t happen, I can conveniently say that Bill didn’t do it. How childish.

A big part of constant leadership is to build a culture of ownership and responsibility for what is mine. To hire people who are self-inspiring and self-motivated.
